Lance had looked into his eyes the moment he had woken up the first time they were a team and he had seen the vast void of it gaping behind his eyes and the spectacle of the void shredded walls that he fought to keep up. Sometimes, on bad days, when Allura woke up screaming, her voice loud enough to wake Lance from his room, he could see it in her eyes that she had been devoured as well.
Even if you haven't seen the films, he pulls out the events that are necessary to understanding his point in a concise enough manner that it does not take anything away from his points. I am only beginning to become acquainted the spectacle of the void the ideas that Peak touches on from Ligotti and Thacker, but luckily my background in philosophy gives me an edge here.
